Zion-Benton and Waukegan are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Zee-Bees will square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Zion-Benton and 13 for Waukegan dating back to last season.

On Wednesday, Zion-Benton came up short against Warren Township and fell 6-1.

Meanwhile, Waukegan lost 15-1 to Stevenson on Tuesday.

Landon Godina made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Waukegan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Zion-Benton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Zion-Benton was able to grind out a solid victory over Waukegan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 8-4. Will the Zee-Bees repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
