 The Clairemont Chieftains will head out on the road to  square off against  the Mission Bay Buccaneers at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Clairemont is coming into the  match on  a  five-game losing streak.
 Last Friday, Clairemont came up short against La Jolla  and fell  5-2. That's two games in a row now that Clairemont has lost by  exactly three  runs.
 Clairemont saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Colton Daudet, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-1.
 Mira Mesa typically has all the answers at home, but  on Friday Mission Bay proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a  run and slipped past the Marauders  2-1. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Mission Bay.
  Kaden Jones looked comfortable as he  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 Clairemont's loss dropped their record down to 13-10-1. As for Mission Bay, their victory  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 14-9.
 Clairemont was able to grind out a solid  win over Mission Bay in their previous matchup  back in May of 2018, winning  10-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clairemont since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
