Baseball Game Preview: Worthington Christian Warriors vs. Grandview Heights Bobcats

For the second straight game, Worthington Christian will face off against Grandview Heights. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Bobcats at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Worthington Christian managed to slip by Grandview Heights the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Warriors lost 8-2 to the Bobcats on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Grandview Heights' part, Michael Greer was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Greer has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Grandview Heights is undefeated when Greer posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Grandview Heights let Kinny Wilson and Sam Bandy run wild. Wilson went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Bandy went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Roman Dye, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

The win (which was Grandview Heights' sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Worthington Christian, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
