Soccer Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, Hillcrest has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the White Longhorns. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Longhorns are ranked 257th).

Hillcrest's goal came courtesy of Amy Escorza, who's now up to eight this season.

Hillcrest's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for White, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Hillcrest has already played their next game, a 9-0 win against Adamson on the 24th. As for White, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, an 8-0 victory against South Oak Cliff on the 24th.
