Baseball Recap: Parma Comes Up Short

Parma had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 5-9 to make it four. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Plymouth Pilgrims. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 4-2 to the Pilgrims when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Parma saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Cole, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

As for New Plymouth, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games.

On New Plymouth's side, they let Cooper Shaw and Jett Williams run wild. Shaw got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Williams went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave Shaw a new career-high. Blayk Cockerum was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Parma will square off against rival Melba at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, New Plymouth is set to face off against their familiar foe Marsing at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
