Soccer Recap: Live Oak Comes Up Short

The matchup between Live Oak and East Ascension on Wednesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Live Oak Eagles lost 7-3 to the East Ascension Spartans. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Live Oak has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those five contests. As for East Ascension, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7-5.

Live Oak wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 4-0 defeat against Walker on the 24th. East Ascension has also already played their next matchup, a 5-1 loss against Dutchtown on the 24th.
