Volleyball Recap: Otay Ranch Takes a Loss

Otay Ranch's tournament run continued when they took on Hamilton on Friday. The Mustangs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies. The shutout was out of character for the Mustangs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Their offense was headlined by Aline Naydenova and Izabella Oritz, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Sienna Carter and her five assists. Paola Ortiz controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Otay Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Hamilton, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Otay Ranch and Hamilton will both be playing San Marcos the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will head out to face the Knights at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Huskies will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
