Baseball Recap: Corinth Takes a Loss

Corinth extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-9 in the process. They lost 13-4 to the Warrensburg Burgers. The Riverhawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Burgers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Dylan Halliday made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

As for Warrensburg, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games.

On Warrensburg's side, they let Caleb Remington and Maris Martin run wild. Remington got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI, while Martin got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Remington a new career-high. Ben Holcomb was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Corinth will head out to face off against Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Riverhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Generals have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Warrensburg, they are taking a road trip to square off against Argyle at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Burgers are facing the Scots at the right time seeing as the Scots are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
