Softball Game Preview: Oyster River Bobcats vs. Sanborn Regional Indians

The Oyster River Bobcats will take on the Sanborn Regional Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Oyster River is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Oyster River's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Kennett with a sharp 13-0 victory. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 11 runs or more this season.

Oyster River let Aubrey Dejesus and Laura Boughton run wild. Dejesus got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while Boughton went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaiya Mercier, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sanborn Regional fell victim to Merrimack Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Pride by a score of 1-0. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Pride recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Oyster River pushed their record up to 7-1-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Sanborn Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Sanborn Regional's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Oyster River has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .486. It's a different story for Sanborn Regional, though, as they've only averaged .360. Will they be able to contain Oyster River's hitters?
