Baseball Recap: Garnet Valley Starts off Right with Win over Downingtown East

Garnet Valley had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Downingtown East Cougars by a score of 9-4 on Wednesday. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered a 6-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Connor Criswell looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Cole Lombardo was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Carroll, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Coming up, Garnet Valley is taking a road trip to challenge Haverford School at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Downingtown East, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Conestoga at 4:00 p.m.
