Softball Game Preview: Foothill Trojans vs. West Vikings

Foothill is 9-1 against West since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will head out to face off against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. West took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Foothill, who comes in off a win.

Foothill is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Mira Monte by a score of 8-4 on Thursday.

Mireya Gomez and Lyla Morales did most of the damage at the plate: Gomez went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Morales went 3-for-4 with two runs. Those three hits gave Morales a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jassive Chavez, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against South, falling 33-1.

Foothill's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for West, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Foothill skirted past West 22-21 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
