Football Preview: North Cobb Christian Eagles vs. Sonoraville Phoenix

The North Cobb Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Sonoraville Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sonoraville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on North Cobb Christian, who comes in off a win.

North Cobb Christian's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Coahulla Creek 48-0 at home. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Eagles had established a 41 point advantage.

Teddy Jarrard went supernova for North Cobb Christian, throwing for 201 yards and four touchdowns. Brody Archie did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 62 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Sonoraville didn't have quite enough to beat Pickens last Friday and fell 31-28. The Phoenix have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Sonoraville had strong showings from Jayden Cruz, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and Chaz Pate, who threw for 260 yards on 18 of 26 attempts. A healthy portion of that aerial production (91 yards to be exact) went to Cayman Reynolds.

The victory (which was North Cobb Christian's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. As for Sonoraville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
