On Tuesday, Shelby County got the W thanks in part to Kaylee Cox playing the best softball she has all season. Cox wasn't messing around, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). The pitching appearance was her third straight with five or more strikeouts.

Coming up, Cox and Shelby County will be playing at home against Model at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rockets got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Patriots thanks in part to Cox: she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.
