Baseball Recap: Portland Comes Up Short

Portland's last matchup with Macon County could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Tigers, falling 9-2. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Portland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was William McGlothlin, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Cayden Lane also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Portland's loss dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Macon County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-9.

Portland has already played their next contest, a 9-6 win against East Robertson on the 17th. As for Macon County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-1 victory against Red Boiling Springs on the 17th.
