Basketball Recap: Washington County Bulldogs vs. Chickasaw Chieftains

Washington County had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-11 to make it five. They had to suffer through a 77-36 loss at the hands of the Chickasaw Chieftains. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chieftains this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-37 back in December of 2025.

As for Chickasaw, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-6. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Kendall Sims had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 24 points and 13 boards. He also posted four blocks, which is notable because Chickasaw is 5-1 when he posts at least three blocks, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Robert Jackson, who posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Washington County is set to challenge their familiar foe St. Luke's Episcopal at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Chickasaw will square off against rival Bayshore Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
