Baseball Recap: North Mecklenburg Finds Home Field Redemption Against West Mecklenburg

There's no place like home for North Mecklenburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the West Mecklenburg Hawks on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Hawks last Tuesday, they had to take a 10-9 defeat.

Jordan Patterson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases. He has become a key player for North Mecklenburg: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-8 otherwise. Phillip Collareta also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

North Mecklenburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

North Mecklenburg's record is now 7-8. As for West Mecklenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Mecklenburg will square off against Chambers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Mecklenburg, they will take on Hopewell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks will need to watch out since the Titans have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
