Baseball Recap: Miramonte Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Miramonte, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Las Lomas Knights 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Matadors have posted since April 8th.

Miramonte saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was George Gilbert, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Gilbert has become a key player for the Matadors: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-15 otherwise.

Miramonte has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-16 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Las Lomas, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-11-1.

As of now, neither Miramonte nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
