            Softball Recap: Baker Gators vs. Freeport Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Laurel Hill  last Monday, Baker came back down to earth. The Gators took  a  14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freeport Bulldogs on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.
  Zoe Moncada made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4. She also put up a  double, which was her first of the season.  Justyce Johns was another key player,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  RBI.
Baker's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Freeport, their record is now 8-9.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baker will challenge Northview at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Chiefs' pitching crew has only allowed three  runs per game  this season, so the Gators' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Freeport, they are taking a road trip to  take on Central  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 10.1  runs per game this season.
