Baseball Recap: Evergreen Has No Trouble Against Standley Lake

Evergreen barely beat Standley Lake the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 10-2 victory on Friday. With that win, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Graham, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of James Mauro, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Evergreen has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Standley Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Evergreen wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-5 win against D'Evelyn on the 3rd.
