Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Extends Winning Streak to Four

Calvary Christian waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the East Lake Eagles by a score of 71-64. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Calvary Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Sabec, who posted 23 points. The game was Sabec's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Bergantino, who had 19 points.

East Lake's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Cooper, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points. Cooper is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Andre Willis, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 18 points.

Calvary Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for East Lake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-5.

Calvary Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-52 win against Shorecrest Prep on the 7th. East Lake has also already played their next game, a 71-54 victory against Dunedin on the 7th.
