Basketball Game Preview: Jellico Blue Devils vs. King's Academy Lions

The Jellico Blue Devils and the King's Academy Lions will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Jellico's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.

Jellico saw some tournament action on Friday. They were beaten by Powell 97-56.

The losing side was boosted by Trey Vann, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 19 points. That was a full 33.9% of Jellico's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Reed, who earned eight points.

Meanwhile, King's Academy came up short against Carter on Friday, falling 71-51. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Green Hornets recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

King's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Jellico, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Jellico skirted past King's Academy 78-76 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was King's Academy's Harrison Rollins, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 17 boards. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for Jellico to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
