Soccer Game Preview: Johansen vs. Ceres

The Johansen Vikings will head out to square off against the Ceres Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Johansen's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Johansen's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Beyer 1-0.

Meanwhile, in Tuesday's Canine Competition, Ceres prevailed. They won by a goal and slipped past Livingston 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 567th, while Wolves are ranked 264th).

Ceres now has a winning record of 7-6-4. As for Johansen, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4-2 and their overall record up to 8-7-2.
