Basketball Recap: Sol'jier Allen Key Part of Team Effort in Hornets Win

Chillicothe won the last time they faced Savannah and things went their way on Friday too. The Chillicothe Hornets came out on top against the Savannah Savages by a score of 50-38. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Savages are ranked 317th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chillicothe's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sol'Jier Allen, who went 8-for-16 on his way to 21 points and five boards. Jaishon White was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Chillicothe was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Chillicothe's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 13-8. As for Savannah, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Looking ahead, Chillicothe will challenge Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Savannah, they will square off against King City at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
