Basketball Game Preview: Payette Pirates vs. Cole Valley Christian Chargers

Payette hasn't had much luck against Cole Valley Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Payette Pirates will challenge the Cole Valley Christian Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Payette is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They were beaten by Weiser 59-28. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Wolverines are ranked 27th).

Meanwhile, Cole Valley Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-34 heartbreaker at the hands of New Plymouth.

Payette's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Cole Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Payette might still be hurting after the 46-20 defeat they got from Cole Valley Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2017. Can Payette avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
