Flag Football Game Preview: Campo Verde Coyotes vs. Notre Dame Prep Saints

The Campo Verde Coyotes will take on the Notre Dame Prep Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Campo Verde has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 164 points over their last three games.

Campo Verde is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Desert Mountain, who was ranked 24th at the time (Campo Verde was ranked 19th). The Coyotes breezed past the Wolves to the tune of 42-0 on Thursday. The Coyotes' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last three contests.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Campo Verde to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izzy Pap, who threw for 221 yards and five TDs while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt. Pap is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for five or more in each of the last three games she's played. Campo Verde's leading receiver Ella Mutters was Pap's top target yet again, picking up 108 receiving yards and three scores.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Campo Verde's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Payton Davis. Amaya Hernandez got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame Prep sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-10 win over Paradise Valley on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Saints.

Notre Dame Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sophie Grieb and Grace DeChant.

Campo Verde's record is now 3-1. As for Notre Dame Prep, their record now sits at 2-0.
