Softball Game Preview: Lakewood Leopards vs. Union Spartans

The Lakewood Leopards are taking a road trip to take on the Union Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lakewood is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Rosewood on Tuesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 19-0. The Leopards have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 20-5 to Hobbton.

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7-1.

Everything went Lakewood's way against Union in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Lakewood made off with a 24-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Leopards since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
