Football Game Preview: Groton School vs. Rivers Red Wings

Groton School are taking a road trip to challenge the Rivers Red Wings at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Groton School has given up an average of 34.8 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Groton School was beaten by Austin Prep 35-7.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rivers). They blew past Hamden Hall Country Day 45-22 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Rivers and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.0 points over those games. As for Groton School, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Groton School was dealt a bruising 35-7 defeat at the hands of Rivers in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can Groton School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
