Recap: Clear Lake Falcons vs. Ball Tornadoes
The Clear Lake Falcons were the 65-40 winner over the Ball Tornadoes when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Clear Lake fell just short of Ball by a score of 69-67. Clear Lake has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Clear Lake's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Obert, who scored 23 points. Obert scored a full 34.3% of Clear Lake's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerrick Guidry, who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds.
Clear Lake has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season. As for Ball, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Clear Lake will take on Crosby at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crosby will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 850th, while Clear Lake is ranked 119th). As for Ball, they will face off against Glenn at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
