Basketball Recap: Minerva Takes a Loss

Minerva was the 80-59 winner over Beaver Local when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Minerva Lions fell just short of the Beaver Local Beavers by a score of 50-48 on Tuesday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Owen Hill had an outrageously good game for Beaver Local as he went 12 of 15 on his way to 28 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Johnston, who posted nine points.

Minerva's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Beaver Local, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Minerva will face off against Alliance at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Beaver Local, they will take on Buckeye Local at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Beaver Local's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Buckeye Local has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
