Volleyball Recap: Goldsboro Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Goldsboro was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Spring Creek on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars came up short against the Midway Raiders on Thursday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2021.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-10, 25-17.

Amiyah Ford paced Goldsboro's offense, picking up six kills. Ford got some help from Caroline Joyner and her nine assists.

Ella Clark had a dynamite game For Midway., getting seven digs and four aces. Clark is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 35 games she's played dating back to last season.

Goldsboro has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Midway, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Goldsboro will square off against Rosewood at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Eagles have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Midway, they will venture away from home to face off against Princeton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
