 It may have taken  nine innings to finish the job, but Burke ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Wednesday. They won by a  run and slipped past the Omaha Central Eagles  11-10. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Burke.
  Nolan Wilcox looked comfortable as he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Jackson Foster was a standout: he scored two  runs while  getting on base  in four of his six plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Casey Gilliland, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
 On Omaha Central's side,  Joe Dougherty was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-5 with a  home run and two  RBI.  Dominic Thomas was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 Even though they lost, Omaha Central  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
 Burke's win  ended  a  four-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 8-16. As for Omaha Central, they now  have a losing record at 11-12.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burke will  square off against Bennington at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Omaha Central, they are on the road again  on Thursday to play Bellevue West at 3:00  p.m. Bellevue West will roll in looking for their  12th straight  victory, something Omaha Central surely won't give up without a fight.
