Football Game Preview: Cascade Cougars vs. Stayton Eagles

Cascade has won four straight games at home, while Stayton has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Cougars will host the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Cascade faced off against La Grande on Friday. The Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tigers 51-7.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Stayton on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Woodburn out of the water with a 42-7 final score. The Eagles pushed the score to 35-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had little chance of recovering from.

Stayton's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Cascade, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Cascade was able to grind out a solid win over Stayton when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 24-16. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
