Volleyball Recap: Fayette Academy Vikings vs. Tipton Christian Academy Eagles
Fayette Academy was the 3-1 winner over Tipton Christian Academy when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Monday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fayette Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-14, 25-13, 25-9.
Tipton Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Maggie Elder, who had 20 digs and six aces. Those 20 digs set a new season-high mark for Elder. Mary Carter also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Fayette Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Tipton Christian Academy, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.
Fayette Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Fayette Ware on the 23rd. As for Tipton Christian Academy, they will square off against Jackson Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
