Bruce hasn't had much luck against Water Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Trojans will take on the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Water Valley will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Bruce extended their winning streak to five on Friday. The Trojans put the hurt on J.Z. George with a sharp 36-14 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Bruce got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jermaine Jackson out in front who picked up 122 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in one score on the ground. With that strong performance, Jackson is now averaging an impressive 102.8 receiving yards per game. Joshua Long was another key signal caller, throwing for 196 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 16 passes.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Water Valley's strategy against Vardaman on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Blue Devils blew the Rams out of the water with a 41-8 final score. With the Blue Devils ahead 21-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Bruce better keep an eye on Zae Bradford. He was instrumental in Water Valley's win, rushing for 109 yards and three scores. That's the most rushing touchdowns Bradford has posted since back in October of 2024.
Water Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 291 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 260 rushing yards in three consecutive games.
Water Valley's defense made their presence known, laying out Braylen Bedford four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Demarea Johnson was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Bruce's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Water Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Bruce has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 217 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Water Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 245.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Bruce suffered a grim 63-42 defeat to Water Valley when the teams last played back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Blue Devils' Tre Adams, who rushed for 311 yards and six TDs while picking up 14.8 yards per carry. Now that the Trojans know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
