Game recap: Round Rock High School Football Team beats McNeil

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Round Rock (Texas) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 34-16 win over McNeil (Austin, Texas).

The Dragons put up 14 points in the opening quarter. Round Rock scored on a defensive touchdown and a Collin Hinson touchdown pass to Keyon Dilosa.

After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the first quarter, RR led 14-3 at the half.

The Dragons expanded their lead to 12 points entering the fourth quarter. Round Rock scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Hinson to Zach Nash-Kelly.

Coming into the game RR had allowed 29.8 points per game this year. The Dragons held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Mavericks right around the 17.6 points it had been averaging per game.



The loss comes after McNeil defeated Pflugerville 49-35 last week.

In a 5A Region II District 16 game next week Round Rock (4-3) takes on Hendrickson, and McNeil (2-6) will go up against Hendrickson also in a 5A Region II District 16 game.
