Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. Northeast

Central is 1-8-1 against Northeast since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lancers will face off against the Vikings at 3:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Academy at Palumbo 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given Central's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 434th, while Academy at Palumbo are ranked 185th).

Meanwhile, Northeast earned a 3-1 win over Science Leadership Academy last Monday. Northeast haven't had any issues with Science Leadership Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Central's record now sits at 3-8. As for Northeast, their record is now 9-0.

Central suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Northeast in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
