Basketball Game Preview: Benson vs. Ortonville Trojans

Benson will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Ortonville Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Ortonville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Benson, who comes in off a win.

While Benson didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 69-66 win from a begrudging Benson squad. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since January 19th.

Meanwhile, Ortonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 53-46 to Wilmot.

Benson pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Ortonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
