Softball Recap: Falcon Wins Going Away Against Sand Creek

After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Falcon brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They put the hurt on the Sand Creek Scorpions with a sharp 15-0 victory on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Sailor Livingston was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Sadie Prejean was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Southards, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Falcon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Falcon's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-8. As for Sand Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.

Falcon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-2 win against Sierra on the 23rd. As for Sand Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-1 victory against Mitchell on the 23rd.
