Baseball Game Preview: Dos Palos Broncos vs. Avenal Buccaneers

Dos Palos has gone a perfect 10-0 against Avenal recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Broncos will host the Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Dos Palos didn't have quite enough to beat Coalinga and fell 4-3. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tevin Clay was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Dos Palos' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-2 (and 5-9-1 when he doesn't).

Meanwhile, Avenal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Tranquillity. Buccaneers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Tigers since on Friday.

Miguel Paez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Jeremiah Rubio also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Dos Palos' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-11-1. As for Avenal, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.
