Football Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Vincent Memorial

Vincent Memorial entered their tilt with Central on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Spartans 34-13. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Scots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Spartans are ranked 453rd).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vincent Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Azul Trujillo, who threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns while completing 82.1% of her passes, and also rushed for 42 yards and a pair of TDs. The dominant performance also gave Trujillo a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Gala Cervantes also helped with two scores in total.

Vincent Memorial's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Vincent Memorial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-6 victory against Temecula Prep on the 13th. As for Central, they have also already played their next contest, a 26-0 loss against Brawley on the 9th.
