Football Recap: Oakleaf Starts Season with Win Against Andrew Jackson

Oakleaf had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past the Andrew Jackson Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 20-6.

Andrew Jackson's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Araniya Riggins, who rushed for 63 yards on only eight carries, and Bre'Sharia Collier, who rushed for 80 yards on only six carries. What's more, Riggins racked up 70 passing yards, the most she's had since back in February of 2024.

Oakleaf has already played their next match, a 19-6 defeat against University Christian on the 24th. As for Andrew Jackson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 win against Orange Park on the 25th.
