Baseball Recap: Buckley Takes a Loss

Buckley couldn't beat Mason County Eastern on Saturday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Bears took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Coy Breithaupt led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Danzik McEachern, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Buckley now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Mason County Eastern, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-7-1.

While Buckley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
