Volleyball Game Preview: Torrey Pines Falcons vs. Cathedral Catholic Dons

The Torrey Pines Falcons will square off against the Cathedral Catholic Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Torrey Pines comes in on 19 and Cathedral Catholic on seven.

Torrey Pines is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Coronado as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Torrey Pines never let Coronado on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Cathedral Catholic made easy work of La Jolla Country Day on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

While Cathedral Catholic won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 25-17.

Torrey Pines' victory bumped their record up to 36-4. As for Cathedral Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 28-7.

Torrey Pines was able to grind out a solid victory over Cathedral Catholic in their previous meeting back in October, winning 2-0. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Dons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
