Volleyball Recap: Ventura's Winning Streak Snapped at Nine Games

It was a good run, but Ventura unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Foothill Tech Dragons. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dragons earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Max Mechtenberg paced Ventura's offense, picking up seven kills. Mechtenberg got some help from Theodore Souther-Pasquarella and his 18 assists. Louie Nacu controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Ventura's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Foothill Tech, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-9.

Looking ahead, Ventura will head out on the road to face off against Rio Mesa at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Foothill Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
