White Pine has gone a perfect 3-0 against GV Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. White Pine will welcome GV Christian at 1:00 p.m. White Pine is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
White Pine will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Wells on Saturday. White Pine walked away with a 10-6 victory over Wells.
Dylan Cessford made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for White Pine: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Hall, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-4. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jackson Armstrong, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, GV Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 17-2 to Pahranagat Valley. That's two games in a row now that the Guardians have lost by exactly 15 runs.
Wake Rowling was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
GV Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for White Pine, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. White Pine has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like GV Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went White Pine's way against GV Christian when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as White Pine made off with a 16-1 win. Does White Pine have another victory up their sleeve, or will GV Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
