The Wessington Springs Spartans and the Castlewood Warriors will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Wessington Springs is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Wall with a sharp 74-52 victory. The win was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on ten straight.

Meanwhile, Castlewood entered their tilt with Lyman on Thursday with ten consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 11. They blew past the Raiders 64-38. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Raiders are ranked 46th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wessington Springs' victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Castlewood, their win bumped their record up to 22-3.

Wessington Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over Castlewood in their previous meeting back in March of 2020, winning 84-77. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Castlewood's Tristan Nielsen, who shot 6-for-10 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 36 points and ten boards.
