Recap: Leadership Academy Falcons vs. Southwestern Randolph Cougars
The Leadership Academy Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 66-50 bruising from Southwestern Randolph.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caden Ryker, who scored 11 points. The matchup was Ryker's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Will Martin, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Nathan Ellis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Southwestern Randolph, scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Marcus Robertson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Southwestern Randolph, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leadership Academy is on the road again on Thursday and play against Providence Grove at 2:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Southwestern Randolph will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Asheboro at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Asheboro is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
