Football Recap: Mohave Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

Mingus came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Mohave, but Joe Yoney wouldn't allow it. The Thunderbirds blew past the Marauders 47-0 on Thursday for which the team can thank Yoney, who threw for 241 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 53 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending one pass.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mohave's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Deegan Perry with two.

The victory was the third in a row for Mohave, bringing their record up to 6-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 45 points. As for Mingus, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Mohave will square off against Lee Williams at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Volunteers' defense has only allowed 9.9 points per game this season, so the Thunderbirds' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Mingus, they will challenge Flagstaff at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
