Recap: Marshall County Tigers vs. Pearl-Cohn Firebirds
The Marshall County Tigers lost against the Pearl-Cohn Firebirds back in December of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Marshall County took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pearl-Cohn. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Marshall County came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Pearl-Cohn is ranked 251st).
When it comes to explaining why Marshall County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Xavier Mosley. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Aja Jones, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Marshall County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Pearl-Cohn, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Marshall County will be playing at home against LEAD Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pearl-Cohn, they will head out on the road to face off against Henderson County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
