Murphysboro waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 56-46 victory over the Sparta Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 87-30 back in December of 2024.

Sparta lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dariontez Monroe, who went 6 of 11 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jake Wesbecher, who posted 11 points and five boards.
